Tired Of A Busy Mind?

Tired of a busy mind? Have you tried REALLY hard to stop thinking??

It's not so different from my telling you to not think about a pink elephant!

Instead of trying not to think, you can practice noticing when the mind is busy, and then noticing that it feels unpleasant...

On the other hand, when you notice the mind is more still, you can notice that it feels pleasant...

That's it!

This type of noticing and allowing leads to a more still mind over time since the nervous system naturally orients away from suffering and towards peace.

This is meditation...sati, remembering.

All change is like this. Trying really hard to change, like to become happy or peaceful, attaches the mind to a state, like unhappiness or chaos, and ensures the latter. All you need to do is practice noticing and allowing what feels pleasant and unpleasant. Over time, the body-heart-mind will automatically release the hot handles of the frying pans...

Aren't you tired of wanting things? You can let go now...

How's that feel?
